Jim Vickery

Born in Hawaii, Jim Vickery was what some might call a “Navy brat, “ that is, every two years the family lived in a different place. Eventually, he settled in the San Franciso Bay area, attended and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the California College of Arts and Crafts, married his junior high school sweetheart, and raised three children before retiring to the Mendocino Coast. Jim passed away in his beloved home by the ocean in 2021, but his whimsical, humorous and colorful art legacy is still with us at both the Artist’s Collective in Elk or at the Prentice Gallery, Main Street, Mendocino, CA.
