About the Artists’ Collective:
The Artists’ Collective in Elk is a pioneering presence on the northern coast of California, and a popular stop on Second Saturday art openings which occur monthly from 1 to 4PM. The Collective is open seven days a week from 10AM to 5PM all year long.
A second iteration of the former Elk Studio Gallery, the Artists’ Collective in Elk was purchased and revamped in 2007 by two Mendocino Coast locals and artists in their own right - Lu Vickery and Craig Hathaway.
Using only word of mouth advertising, the partners were able to revive and rebrand the former failing gallery to attract many wonderful talented artists. Building on their successes, the partners expanded again in 2010, and effectively doubled membership in the Collective.
Today the Collective boasts a full house of diverse and creative local talent. Members pay monthly dues but keep 100% of their sales as the Collective does not charge artists commission fees. This allows Collective clients the ability to purchase wonderful pieces of art at studio prices.
Collective members span from Fort Bragg in the North to Sea Ranch in the South. The Collective features a vast array of original fine art including photography, paintings, drawings, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, stained glass, mosaic, etched glass, redwood furniture and multimedia art. Note and greeting cards for various occasions are also available.
